Nathalie Boucher , Sarah-Maude Cossette
Jane’s Walks are citizens’ encounters aimed at discovering places, stories and projects specific to the city through walking. They are organized annually in some one hundred cities around the world, in tribute to Canadian-American urban planner and activist Jane Jacobs. For its 13th Montreal edition and first virtual edition (in a pandemic context), Nathalie Boucher and Sarah-Maude Cossette created a walk around the needs of adolescent girls in urban public spaces. The article takes the form of an interview with the two researchers on the urban practices of teenage girls and the relevance of the Jane’s Walk as a knowledge transfer tool.
