This forum, organised by the UNAM’s Institute of Social Investigation, takes a socio-historical look at drug-taking practices and their social acceptance in Mexico, between prohibition and tolerance. The researchers take a look back at the process of prohibiting drug use that began after the revolution, and then address the contemporary issues surrounding these practices, between political and health responses and new tolerance.
