Maxime Boucher
This text analyzes communicational inequalities in a Montreal urban planning process, based on an ethnography of the integrated urban revitalization (RUI) process in the Hochelaga district. It discusses the communicational and speaking challenges faced by participants who have become critics of this urban revitalization process. The analysis is rooted in a micro-sociological approach that enables us to observe in detail the interactions between participants and the precautions they take to avoid losing credibility and possibly face with other partners in the RUI process.
